Frequently asked questions

Questions that people maybe might ask some day, probably.

What is itsasmall.world?

A website where people can create free communities for things that they like to talk about with other people. All communities are public, and anyone can join them.

#
Are accounts free?

Yes.

#
Do I need to give an email address?

No.

#
Do I need an account to read or comment?

No. You can read and comment anonymously.

#
How do I create a community?

Accounts with trust level 2 or higher can create communities over here: /c/new.

#
What are trust levels?

A naughty and nice system. Helpful actions add reputation and bad actions subtract reputation. At certain amounts of reputation you go up and down trust levels.

Trust levels and what's needed to reach them
Level Name Reputation Other requirements
TL0 Newcomer - Default for everyone, anonymous or registered.
TL1 Established ≥ 5 At least 3 comments older than 24 hours that haven't been removed. Anonymous users cannot go above TL1.
TL2 Verified user - Requires account registration.
TL3 Trusted user ≥ 50 Registered for at least 30 days, and at least 50 not-removed comments.
#
Why is the password length requirement so long?

To prevent password reuse. Let this be your sign to use a password manager if you are not using one already.

Soon, users that add a recovery option to their account (email, phone) will be able use more convenient login methods. MFA is coming soon, too.

#
How is my data handled?

There's no third party tracking on this site.

Anonymous users get 1 cookie for tracking reputation. Lose that cookie and you've lost your identity.

Users with an account can rely on excellent security practices when it comes to storing their data. For more details, see Cardinal Apps Inc.'s Privacy Policy.
